Effective health and safety management is at the forefront of all competent organisations. Increasingly self regulation legislation is becoming more demanding and complex and Schal are able to provide a range of bespoke health and safety consultancy services associated with most aspects of the built environment.

Health and Safety

Schal has built a reputation on its multi-discipline design, project management and consultancy experience. This has given us the expertise and understanding which enables us to advise and assist organisations on the many aspects of health and safety management during the life cycle of any asset.

Our services:

• The development, implementation and review of company health and safety policies, organisation and arrangements, in accordance with HS(G) 65 and OHSAS 18001.

• The development and review of procedures associated with all aspects of implementing the requirements of the CDM regulations for duty holders.

• Undertaking and reviewing hazard identification and risk assessments against legislative requirements particularly in relation to CDM, DSE, and other workplace activities.

• The facilitation of health and safety workshops for clients, designers, contractors or complete project teams.

• The provision of safety training including senior management responsibilities, workshops and courses relating to clients and designers under CDM, construction and office environment related topics as well as courses developed according to client's specific requirements.

• Undertaking detailed workplace inspections including office safety audits, construction sites and residential or commercial properties.

• Provision of competent site safety advice and procedures, including development and implementation of construction health and safety plans, inspections and audits through to resident safety managers

• Provision of health and safety advice and helpline with regular newsletters and information on current topics, new legislation and HSE initiatives

Skills and Resources

We employ fully qualified health and safety practitioners with expertise and experience in a wide variety of construction disciplines. Their levels of technical competence are kept up to date and continually improved through a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Our staff are supported by a comprehensive Integrated Management System accredited to ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 with the IT capability expected of a major service provider.
